Ceramic Sculptures

When I began working in ceramics, my way of seeing and my way of working changed. Faces took form. As I followed my hands, whole worlds emerged within the figures. As I began to explore oysters, flowers, and other life, their connection to the human figure continued. I am interested in the human as subject and as environment.

Abstract Landscapes

This series asks – what is present when there is nothing? Within stillness and vastness, there is still movement, emotion, breath. Each piece in this series is an bastracted inner landscape, giving an emotional forecast of what is present when there is “nothing”.

Whales

The whale series explores the subject as the environment. Focusing into a single experience in a single moment in time, the ancient, giant organism becomes the subject, but also becomes a whole ecosystem of smaller happenings.

Oyster Series

Each oyster study is a meditation on stillness, arrival, contentment, and place.
